Human Pin Cushion

Well I finally managed to undergo the wonderful torture of having my 3 hour glucose test. Ughh.

I went in first thing yesterday morning with both Heaven and Devin in tow.

They sent me over to the lab where my morning started with them drawing a tube of blood from my left arm and then making me drink that horrible orange liquid. After drinking the liquid it was all I could do to keep it down and the "bright cheerful" (sarcasm) nurse informed me that if I did't keep it down we would have to start again another day. She then informs me to be back in the room in exactly one hour. Oh and no eatin or drinking.

The kids and I sat out in the waiting room. They watched cartoons and ate snacks, while I read and thought about how good the gummies were smelling, lol. I must say Devin tolerated the boring task pretty well, probaby because he was watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. The hour ended and it was back to the lab.

Once back in the lab the woman preps my arm and I will be danged if she doesn't get the same exact spot as the first time. Ouch!! She tapes me up and informs me yet again be back in one hour, huh!!

We head back to the waiting room for some more toons, two trips to the bathroom (it's amazing how he will not potty at home but get him in public and he is a potty machine), another tabloid magazine, and a butt load of snoring from Heaven. I thought this hour would never end. But it finally did and back to the lab we go.

This time when we get in there Devin is shaking his finger at the woman and telling her no, no, no, no stick my mama I kick. She thought that was just so cute and laughed forever. Well here we go she is attempting to prep the same arm, which is when I step in and say sorry that arm is off limits lets keep it even and go for two with the other. This stick didn't hurt at all, thank the Lord! All done and be back in an hour.

"Yeah" it's the waiting room again. But this time Devin is super still and watched cartoons while he drinks the last of his gatorade, probably because it's that wonderfully annoying Spongebob Squarepants. On the other side of me is Heaven eating peanut butter wafers and I swear it sounds like......I don't know it was just loud! I hate peanut butter wafers but I was about ready to snatch the bag and run. Just when I feel like screaming I look at my phone and the final hour is up. Off to the lab. Final blood drawn and I make dang sure she doesn't go for the same spot again. Finally we can go home.

Now I get to sit, wonder, and wait for the results.
